Heavy Rains Cause Sewage Discharge in Mount Kisco

The Westchester County Health Department says yesterday's heavy rains have overhelmed Mount Kisco's Saw Mill River Pump station and caused a sewage discharge into publicly inaccessible wetlands on the east side of the Saw Mill River Parkway. There is no public impact, it says, from the spill at this time.

The discharge was reported to the County by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation because the pump station was overwhelmed by the volume of stormwater.
