Westchester County: Sales Tax Revenue Outpaces Budget Projections

Westchester County officials announced today that sales tax revenue for the first month of the fiscal year (January 2011) is outpacing projections by 1.4%.

The County had budgeted for $36.2 million in tax revenue. Instead, it received $38.3 million.

Chairman of the Westchester County Board of Legislators, Ken Jenkins (D-Yonkers) said "It's a good indication that the policies laid out by the county board during the budget process are starting to turn this county around."
