Snowplow Strikes,Kills Lewisboro Woman and her Dog

State Police in Somers say a Town of Lewisboro woman who had been walking with her unleashed dog on Bittersweet Lane in Oakridge Commons on Friday was struck and killed along with her dog by a snow plow.

Officials say the victim, 34 year old Andrea P. Fernandez-Acevedo was transported from the scene around 5 p.m.  to Norwalk Hospital in Connecticut where she later died of her injuries. The plow operator, 63 year old Stephen J. Vasale of Norwalk, was uninjured. Police say he has not been charged.
