Evidence Tampering
Father of Slain Pace University Student Questions Handling of Evidence
The father of the Pace University student killed by police in October is out with a new video on YouTube questioning investigators' handling of evidence in the case.
In the video, Dan Henry of Cambridge, Massachusetts, expresses particular concern with two phone calls made on his son DJ's phone after his death.
He says when he questioned the District Attorney's office about them, he was told that the phone was only turned on to determine who the phone belonged to. Henry expressed concern that police, who likely found the phone on his son's person, were unaware that it was his and questioned whether police were either sloppy in their evidence gathering or tampering with the evidence.
The elder Henry also said he investigated the situation further and was told by his son's phone company provider, AT&T, that the two calls made were data transfers out. One was made about an hour after he had died, the other, about an hour after that.
He questioned why the Westchester D.A.'s office was unaware of that and why such evidence may have been removed from the phone without a warrant.
