Faulty Woodstove To Blame for Yorktown Fire That Left 5 Injured

Home in Yorktown Destroyed by Fire Five people were injured, two of them seriously, in an early morning fire in Jefferson Valley.

Mohegan Lake Fire Chief Joseph Mayer says the call reporting of a structure fire with people trapped inside first came in at 5:35 a.m.

Mayer says a trooper passing by spotted the blaze and alerted the residents in the home at 1390 Gomer Court and began evacuating them. Fire officials arrived at the home to find it fully engulfed in flames.
