Stranded Cruise Ship With Westchester County Legislator and Group of Seniors Being Towed

(Carnival Cruise Ship similar to the one stranded off the Coast of Mexico

Westchester County Legislator Bernice Spreckman (R-Yonkers) and a group of seniors, are among the 4,500 passengers stranded aboard a crippled Carnival Cruise Line Ship that suffered a fire in its engine room leaving passengers without air conditioning, phone service as well as running water and flushing toilets. Nobody was injured in the fire, but the Cruise Line has been forced to handle the trying conditions while stuck in the Pacific Ocean about 50 miles off the Coast of Mexico.
