New Rochelle Woman Brutally Murdered With Machete, Suspect in Custody

Police in New Rochelle are investigating a stabbing Friday night that left a 29 year old woman dead.

Officials say Lisa Stabler was viciously attacked with a machete while she was visting with a male friend at an apartment at 309 North Avenue, apartment 12. 

Cops arrived to find the woman lying on a bed, unresponsive with multiple wounds to her head torso and hands. She was prounced dead shortlly afterward at Sound Shore Medical Center. 

Arrest Made in Stabbing in Yonkers

Yonkers Police have made an arrest in a stabbing Saturday on South Broadway.

Police say the 20 year old victim flagged down police shortly before 1 a.m. December 11 reporting he had just been stabbed multiple times and that the suspect had fled on foot.

The officers pursued the suspect eastbound on Randolph Street. Cops say the suspect resisted attempts to take him into custody.

Under arrest is 22 year old Michel Garcia of 144 Waverly Street, Yonkers. He's been charged with 2nd Degree Assault, Obstructing Governmental Administation and Resisting Arrest.

Syracuse Woman Indicted on Attempted Murder Charges For Attack on Nieces

Lisa TurkkiAn East Syracuse woman was indicted today on attempted murder and assault charges in connection with a brutal attack on her two young nieces at their Katonah home on July 31.

A Westchester County Grand Jury returned the charges against 39 year old Lisa Turkki today.

Turkki's been charged with two counts of 1st Degree Attempted Muder, Two Counts 1st Degree assault, two counts of 4th Degree Criminal possession of a weapon.  She is expected to be formally arraigned in White Plains tomorrow. 

The attacks occurred at a home at 85 Girdle Ridge Road in Katonah as Turkki was babysitting the girls, 7 year old Maeve Kelly and 9 year old Annabel Kelly as the parents were out for the evening.

The parents returned home to find the girls lying on the kitchen floor with multiple stab wounds. Both have since recovered from their injuries.

Woman Stabbed in Yonkers

Police have made an arrest in connection with the stabbing of a woman in Yonkers. Police say a woman walked into St. Joseph's Medical Center in Yonkers around 4:10 Monday afternoon suffering a stab wound to the left side of her chest.

The unidentified victim told police the stabbing stemmed from a domestic dispute and gave police a description of her attacker and her likely location.

Yonkers police later arrested a suspect, identified as Nefertiria E. Bennet of 69 Hamilton Avenue. She's been charged with 2nd Degree Assault and 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

Indictments in Fatal Daytime Stabbing in New Rochelle

Three people have been indicted in connection with the fatal daytime stabbing of a New Rochelle Man on North Avenue.

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced today that indictments have been handed up against three people in the death of Kevin Williams.l. to .r.: Rico Johnson, Krista Leggieri, Laurell Smith

20 year old Laurell Smith of 311 North Avenue,New Rochelle has been charged with Second Degree Murder and 4th Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon.

19 year old Rico Johnson of 311 North Avenue , New Rochelle was charged with First and Second Degree Hindering Prosecution as well as Tampering with Physical Evidence, all felonies.

And, 17 year old Krista Leggieri of 311 North Avenue, New Rochelle has been charged with First and Second Degree Hindering Prosecution as well as Tampering with Physical Evidence, all felonies.

Near-Riot in Yonkers Leaves 6 Cops Injured

Six Yonkers Police officers were injured while responding  to a  large melee Sunday at 620 South Broadway  in the downtown area of the City. Police responding to a report of a large number of people engaged in a fight at 620 South Broadway found between 60 and 70 people on South Broadway near Caryl Avenue and Fanshaw Avenue with several physical altercations taking place simultaneously.

Girls Stabbed in Katonah

A Syracuse woman is under arrest after allegedly stabbing her two young nieces as she was babysitting them in Katonah. Officials say 39 year old Lisa Turkki of East Syracuse,N.Y. Was watching the girls, identified as 7 year old Maeve and 9 year old Annabel Kelly as their parents went out for the evening.
