Police Identify Yorktown Woman Killed in Fire

Yorktown Police have now identified the woman killed in a fast-moving fire at a home at 2965 Mead Street. Officials say the woman was 78 year old Nancy Lockheart.

Fire officials discovered the woman's body in a second floor room of the home.

According to police and fire officials, the blaze was accidental and was sparked by an overheated extension cord.  Firefighters said the house was packed with furniture, trash and clutter, making it difficult for them to reach Lockhart, who lived alone.

An autopsy is being conducted by the Westchester County Medical Examiner's Office.
