Acting Westchester County Parks Commissioner Kathleen O'Connor today lifted the ban on open fires in County parks.  O'Connor  says the recent rainfall over the past few days has eliminated the immediate dryness. There had been numerous brush fires reported in the region.

O'Connor says while the rain has eliminated the immediate dryness, the Parks Department will continue to monitor conditions in the parks and will reinstate the ban should conditions change.
